I am not a fan of QTEs but I think the walking and talking segments that Sony and Rockstar have replaced them with are much worse. QTEs can be frustrating but at least they don't grind the entire game to a halt and make me want to go play something else

I love MGR but yeah Platinum really goes overboard with the QTEs. They're particularly bad in Bayonetta where you're not expecting them and it ruins a perfectly good run
