I was told to make a thread about the mr2 so here it is. Right now I'm in the process of converting it to use a MegaSquirt ECU because the factory one is probably busted and isn't easy to replace. Had to add a couple of sensors in and one of them goes onto the timing gear so I spent all weekend getting the old timing belt and oil pump off, but it's coming along.
Next weekend I plan to get that back together. Didn't get a lot of pictures unfortunately

It came out pretty well. The braciole could have used more time cooking in the sauce. The ravioli wasn’t my best, I’ve only made it twice though. I’ve moved on to making my own pasta though. I got my budys ded mom’s pasta maker. It’s absolutely worth the extra effort to make your own. Nowhere near as filling, nor full of bullshit pasta isn’t supposed to have in it enriched bleached vitamins
Simple pasta recipe:
1 cup flour your choice, I spend the extra 70¢ on unenriched, unbleached, organic flour
1 egg
Some salt and water not much of either
So you mix the egg, water, and salt in a bowl until foamy. Slowly pour the flour into the egg mix, while mixing with a fork. It will get to a point you can’t mix with the fork, dump the rest of the flour in and finish by hand. The resulting product should be slightly sticky, although it shouldn’t stick to anything. Add more flour if it’s that sticky. Then kneed, form into a ball and let rest, covered with a towel for at least 10 minutes. Roll it with a rolling pin, or cut and feed into your pasta machine and you’re done.

>TL;DR: Read if you're interested in how electronic hardware gets manufactured overseas. Gets kind of reddit-y towards the end but otherwise a great read.

<Long version:
I picked this up thinking it was just some hardware cracking book, but it actually turned out to be a pretty interesting look at the manufacturing industry in China.
For example, it mentioned how the China's reputation as the "cheap shit" manufacturing base kind of creates a self-fulfilling prophecy where manufacturers are incentivized to cut corners in production as much as they can to keep costs as low as possible, leading to horrible situations like using roofies in aquadots or using tons of people to hand-craft zippers (since human labor is objectively cheaper than automation unless you're mass-producing something on a ridiculous scale)
Another interesting thing the book mentioned was how the Chinese tech industry has more of a focus on manufacturing ability rather than intellectual property, which leads to fun and weird situations where confidential datasheets and other documents are more or less shared freely to the public since the hardware companies consider it as free advertising. (tho this also leads to the situation where bootleg/fake products are fairly common)
Don't think that I'm simping for the authoritarian surveillance shithole that is China, (even if you read between the lines in the book it's p clear how shitty the country can be) but it's interesting to read an argument proposing that many of the issues that western countries see with China are simply due to a lack of understanding of Chinese cultural views on manufacturing.

No luck with the fal yet. Had a buddy of mine who used to be an armorer in the military look at it. He said to the best of his knowledge the barrel isn’t warped. He did the same thing I did though shine a light through the bottom and looked down it, also examined the shadows on the ceiling idk I guess until next time I can test it :/

no theory writeups this time around, just talk about what i'm doing to stay healthy
working my strength back up after a few year layoff
skeleton mode this time, 6' ~148-153
just doing deads, weighted dips, and rows at the moment
not being super consistent, 1-3 times a week
linear progression. already starting to plateau. being irregular with the deads actually helps with that, since my fatigue is outpacing my fitness gains
at 275 for 5 reps. if i can grind to 3 plate i'll start doing real periodization
